CO2MAN stands for CO2 Reservoir Management
and is a collaborative project that is currently facilitating research and development work at the pilot site. It is supported by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
CO2MAN is scheduled to run through December 2013.

In total 6 scientific institutions are taking part in this project. The collaboration with industry partners allows us to connect the research and technology aspects of the work.

Since the start of work at the pilot site in 2004, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences has coordinated the gathering of fundamental data regarding the storage site itself, but also regarding the geological storage of CO2 in general. This was done in one of the most comprehensive international scientific support programs.

The work within the CO2MAN project is divided into four subject areas (see ill. at the bottom of the page) and is designed to build on the previous observations. The focus is on expanding the procedural understanding of CO2 storage and monitoring. The project is supported by the publicity work of the information center at the Ketzin site and by the data management system.
