CGS visit at the science day at the Weinberg-Gymnasium

For the third time GFZ staff from the Centre for Geological Storage CGS visited the Weinberg gymnasium in Kleinmachnow.

At this gymnasium pupils have the opportunity to experience current scientific topics via talks, hands-on experiments and workshops once a year.

GFZ introduced the idea of CO2 storage in relation with climate change and the research at the pilot site Ketzin. Afterward, pupils could experiment themselves with CO2. At first they produced CO2 with household utensils and afterwards the four CO2 trapping mechanism were explained by further experiments.
