At the pilot site in Ketzin, 40 km west of Berlin, national and European projects coordinated by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum GFZ) have advanced our scientific understanding of how to store CO2 geologically, and researched the processes of underground CO2 injection and migration.more

The COMPLETE Research Project

was a follow-up project that has seamlessly continued with the previous research and development work conducted at the Ketzin pilot site. The project was funded by the BMBF (the German Ministry for Education and Research), by industry partners from Germany and from other countries; by CLIMIT (a Norwegian R & D program ) and by the GFZ Potsdam. Within the project, engineers and scientists from the fields of geology, geophysics, geochemistry and modeling  were involved.
