"Ketzin goes to school"

The Marie-Curie gymnasium in Ludwigsfelde and the Weinberg gymnasium in Kleinmachnow invite scientist every year to enter into a dialogue with the pupils.

During one day the pupils had the opportunity to experience current scientific topics via talks, hands-on experiments and workshops.
We from the GFZ (Centre for CO2 storage) used this framework for discussing topics like the greenhouse effect and energy in general with the pupils. We also reported about the idea of storing CO2 in the underground and the research activities at the Ketzin pilot site.
At the end, the pupils could experiment with CO2 and learn how a gas can be trapped in a porous rock.
