Pupils learned about research on CO2 storage

For the second time GFZ staff from the Centre for Geological Storage CGSvisited the Marie-Curie gymnasium in Ludwigsfelde and the Weinberg gymnasium in Kleinmachnow.
At both schools pupils have the opportunity to experience current scientific topics via talks, hands-on experiments and workshops, once a year.
Additionally, information about apprenticeship and studying were given.

At this occasion, we discussed with the pupils the greenhouse effect, the idea of storing CO2 in the underground and the research activities at the Ketzin pilot site.

At the end, the pupils could experiment with CO2 and learn how a gas can be trapped in a porous rock.
